Mega Man is a classic action-platformer where players control the heroic robot Mega Man, created by Dr. Light, to battle the evil robots of the renegade Dr. Wily.

The core objective is to guide Mega Man through eight challenging stages, each guarded by a Robot Master boss. Your goal is to defeat all eight bosses, acquire their unique weapons, and then storm Dr. Wily's fortress to save the day. Moment-to-moment play involves precise running and jumping across platforms while shooting your standard Mega Buster arm cannon at various robotic enemies. A key beginner strategy is to learn the attack patterns of each Robot Master, as defeating them in a specific order can make subsequent stages easier by using a boss's weakness against the next. The challenge rhythm is a steady climb in difficulty, with each stage introducing new enemy types and more complex platforming sections. In the early game, focus on mastering Mega Man's slide maneuver and jump height to navigate safely. During the middle section, your priority shifts to strategically using the special weapons you've collected to exploit enemy weaknesses. In tense moments, especially during boss fights, careful dodging and patience are more important than rapid firing.
