Mega Man 5 is an action-platformer where players control the heroic robot Mega Man to defeat the villainous Proto Man and his army of Robot Masters to save the world.

Your goal is to guide Mega Man through eight initial stages, each culminating in a battle against a unique Robot Master. Defeating a Robot Master grants you their signature weapon, which is often the weakness of another boss. This creates a strategic sequence for tackling the stages. Moment-to-moment gameplay involves precise running and jumping across platforms while shooting your standard Mega Buster arm cannon at various robotic enemies.
