Your primary goal is to guide Crash through a series of linear and vehicle-based levels to collect Crystals and Gems, which are needed to power the Time-Twisting Machine and stop Cortex. Moment-to-moment gameplay involves running, jumping, and spinning to defeat enemies and break crates. You'll also ride a tiger, pilot a plane, and dive a submarine in specific stages. A useful beginner strategy is to master the timing of the spin attack to clear groups of foes and to always break every crate you see, as they contain Wumpa Fruit for extra lives and bonus items. In the early game, focus on learning the level layouts and crate patterns. As you progress, the challenge increases with more complex platforming and faster vehicle sections. During tense moments, such as boss fights, watch for attack patterns and use Aku Aku masks for temporary invincibility. The rhythm of the game alternates between careful exploration and fast-paced action.
