How to Play

Your mission is to explore the caverns of SR388, defeat all Metroids, and ultimately destroy the Metroid Queen. You control Samus from a side-view perspective, running, jumping, and shooting your way through interconnected environments. The core gameplay loop involves exploring labyrinthine tunnels, defeating enemies to refill health and missiles, and searching for Morph Ball tunnels and hidden passages to progress. A counter at the bottom of the screen tracks the number of Metroids remaining, which serves as your primary objective guide. As you explore deeper, you will encounter Metroids that evolve through several forms, each requiring different strategies to defeat. Early on, focus on mastering Samus's jump and bomb placement in Morph Ball form to access new areas. In tense combat situations, use missiles for heavy damage and utilize the environment for cover. The challenge escalates as you face faster and more aggressive evolved Metroids, culminating in a final confrontation in the Queen's lair.
